That\u2019s because it may encourage something called a \u201cphase advance,\u201d which means <a href=\"https:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.co.uk\/entry\/morning-sunlight-clocks-change-benefits_uk_67053ff9e4b09585e726ce73\">you fall asleep faster<\/a>, potentially making an earlier wakeup more bearable.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!-- https:\/\/smartframe.io\/embedding-support --><\/p>\n<div class=\"content-list-component text\">\n<h3><strong>3) Consider your age when working out how to handle the sleep change<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><a role=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.drtimmercer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-vars-item-name=\"Dr Tim Mercer\" data-vars-item-type=\"text\" data-vars-unit-name=\"67e68ef3e4b086a4e8de44cd\" data-vars-unit-type=\"buzz_body\" data-vars-target-content-id=\"https:\/\/www.drtimmercer.com\/\" data-vars-target-content-type=\"url\" data-vars-type=\"web_external_link\" data-vars-subunit-name=\"article_body\" data-vars-subunit-type=\"component\" data-vars-position-in-subunit=\"4\">Dr Tim Mercer<\/a>, an insomnia specialist, shared that different generations have their own ways of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.co.uk\/entry\/how-to-deal-clocks-going-forward-by-age_uk_67e68ef3e4b086a4e8de44cd\">handling clock changes<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.co.uk\/entry\/how-to-deal-clocks-going-forward-by-age_uk_67e68ef3e4b086a4e8de44cd\">Gen Z may be<\/a> the \u201cmost disadvantaged\u201d group after the clock changes, he added, as their natural sleep patterns tend towards being night owls. And Millennials <a href=\"https:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.co.uk\/entry\/how-to-deal-clocks-going-forward-by-age_uk_67e68ef3e4b086a4e8de44cd\">might be more likely<\/a> to deal with\u00a0\u201c<a role=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.co.uk\/entry\/orthosomnia-explained_uk_67123b49e4b069ea0f0624ab\" data-vars-item-name=\"orthosomnia\" data-vars-item-type=\"text\" data-vars-unit-name=\"67e68ef3e4b086a4e8de44cd\" data-vars-unit-type=\"buzz_body\" data-vars-target-content-id=\"67123b49e4b069ea0f0624ab\" data-vars-target-content-type=\"buzz\" data-vars-type=\"web_internal_link\" data-vars-subunit-name=\"article_body\" data-vars-subunit-type=\"component\" data-vars-position-in-subunit=\"7\">orthosomnia<\/a>,\u201d where anxiety about perfect sleep can (paradoxically) keep you up all night.<\/p>\n<p>These groups <a href=\"https:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.co.uk\/entry\/better-sleep-clock-change_uk_69b9324be4b09852c2828092\">all need to take different approaches<\/a>, he added.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>4) Be patient with yourself\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>It <a href=\"https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2026\/03\/08\/health\/daylight-saving-time-adjust-sleep-wellness\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">takes a lot of people several days<\/a> to acclimatise to the clocks changing. And even if your sleep routine and daytime activity are perfect, it\u2019s possible you might still struggle with the shift.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to the <a href=\"https:\/\/oxfordhealthbrc.nihr.ac.uk\/the-uk-spring-clock-change-navigating-the-impact-on-sleep\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centre<\/a>, Dr Rachel Sharman, a researcher in Sleep Medicine, said, \u201cRecognise that it may take time for your body to adjust to the new schedule and be gentle with yourself during this transition period\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Stressing about it <a href=\"https:\/\/oxfordhealthbrc.nihr.ac.uk\/the-uk-spring-clock-change-navigating-the-impact-on-sleep\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener
