ISMANING, Germany (AP) \u2014 Former Liverpool manager J\u00fcrgen Klopp has dismissed as \u201cnonsense\u201d a suggestion he could take over as Real Madrid coach next season and said he hasn\u2019t heard from the Spanish club.<\/p>\n

Klopp hasn\u2019t coached since his shock departure from Liverpool in 2024, when he said he was \u201crunning out of energy.\u201d He\u2019s stayed in the game as the Red Bull group\u2019s head of global soccer, overseeing clubs like Leipzig, Salzburg and the New York Red Bulls.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s all just nonsense. They haven\u2019t even called once, not one single time. And my agent is over there, you can ask him too, they haven\u2019t called him either,\u201d Klopp said in televised comments about speculation linking him to Real Madrid.<\/p>\n

He was speaking at an event on Monday in his role as a TV pundit for the World Cup.<\/p>\n

Klopp didn\u2019t rule out a return to coaching someday but said he wasn\u2019t thinking about the Germany job in case Julian Nagelsmann were to leave after the World Cup.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt the moment I\u2019m obviously not thinking about that at all and luckily there isn\u2019t any reason to do that,\u201d he said in comments reported by German agency dpa.<\/p>\n

Last month, Red Bull said it was \u201cextremely satisfied\u201d with Klopp\u2019s work after a report in an Austrian newspaper claimed his role was in question because the drinks giant\u2019s clubs hadn\u2019t made enough progress in the year since he took charge.<\/p>\n
