The View<\/i><\/a><\/span> cohost Sunny Hostin<\/span><\/a><\/strong> wants celebrities to keep it real when it comes to cosmetic procedures.<\/p>\n

“If someone looks at you and you look different, you look refreshed, I think it’s appropriate, as a public figure, to say, ‘This is what I did,’” Hostin, 57, shared on the Monday, March 23, episode of the “Behind the Table<\/span><\/a>” podcast. “What’s the big deal? What’s with the secret? You look better.”<\/p>\n

While chatting with The View<\/i>’s executive producer Brian Teta<\/strong>, Hostin praised The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills <\/i>alum Denise Richards<\/strong> for opening up about her recent facelift surgery.<\/span><\/a> She even shared before-and-after pictures of her face via Instagram<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

When Teta, 49, pointed out that some high-profile guests come on The View<\/i> and it’s clear “stuff has happened,” Hostin replied, “They’ve denied it. Often. But it’s obvious that it’s been done!”<\/p>\n

As for why some celebs don’t want to kiss and tell about plastic surgery, Hostin has her own theory.<\/p>\n

“I think sometimes people don’t want to be honest about it because you’re going to be judged,” she shared. “But you’re going to be judged anyway. I don’t care as much about the judgment. I think some people are pretty sensitive about it. I think you should just be honest about it.”<\/p>\n

Back in the summer of 2022, Hostin underwent a breast reduction and lift, as well as liposuction, after years of struggling with back pain and body-image issues.<\/p>\n

“It was a health decision and a self-care decision,” she told People<\/i><\/span><\/a> in January 2023. “I thought I would feel shame, like, ‘Oh, my God, I’m doing plastic surgery like all these crazy celebrities.’ But I don’t feel shame at all. And I hope sharing my story will help more people. If they’re feeling so body-conscious, the way I was — they can do what they need to do to feel better.”<\/p>\n

While Hostin acknowledged that plastic surgery isn’t always glamorous — she hired a private nurse to assist during her two-week recovery — she hopes viewers realize that there’s often more than what meets the eye with your favorite celebrities.<\/p>\n

“I look through magazines and Instagram accounts. I always believed, ‘Oh, they must be clean eating.’ No, they’re not — a lot of them are taking something, or they’re getting plastic surgery,” she said. “It’s their decision to keep it private, but I wanted to be really honest. And I’m so happy.”<\/p>\n
