Ottawa Senators defenseman Thomas Chabot<\/a> will be “out for a while” after sustaining a right arm injury, head coach Travis Green said<\/a> after the team’s 2-1 win against the New York Rangers.<\/p>\n

Chabot exited in the dying seconds of the first period after being cross-checked by Rangers captain J.T. Miller<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Senators have been without star defenseman Jake Sanderson<\/a> since March 7 due to an upper-body injury. Ottawa is also missing blue-liners Nick Jensen<\/a> and Dennis Gilbert<\/a> due to injuries, and recent call-up Lassi Thomson<\/a> exited against the Rangers as well with a lower-body injury.<\/p>\n

Chabot has seven goals and 31 points in 54 games this season. He’s averaged over 28 minutes of ice time in seven games since Sanderson left the lineup.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old has already missed 13 games this season.<\/p>\n

Ottawa is two points out of the second wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference.<\/p>\n
