Donald Trump<\/a> has launched a foul-mouthed rant against Iran as his deadline for the re-opening of the Strait of Hormuz<\/a> approaches.<\/p>\n

The US president has given Tehran until Monday to begin allowing oil tankers to once again pass through the key shipping lane unaided.<\/p>\n

Around one-fifth of the world\u2019s oil supply passes through the strait, but that as all-but ceased since Iran began attacking ships in retaliation for America and Israel\u2019s bombing campaign against the country.<\/p>\n

That has sent oil prices soaring, sparking fears of a global economic meltdown.<\/p>\n

Trump warned Iran on Saturday that\u00a0\u201call hell will reign down\u201d\u00a0<\/a>if it did not re-open the strait within 48 hours.<\/p>\n

In a fresh post on Truth Social on Sunday, the president listed the Iranian targets that America will hit unless Tehran complies.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cTuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the Fuckin\u2019 Strait, you crazy bastards, or you\u2019ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also told Fox News: \u201d\u201cIf [Iran doesn\u2019t] make a deal, and fast, I\u2019m considering blowing everything up and taking the oil. You\u2019re going to see bridges and power plants dropping all over their country.\u201d<\/p>\n

A senior United Nations official warned on Friday<\/a> that attacking power plants and bridges would be against international law.<\/p>\n

Tom Fletcher, the UN\u2019s under-secretary general for humanitarian affairs, told the BBC: \u201cThis stuff isn\u2019t negotiable. You don\u2019t hit civilian infrastructure.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou don\u2019t hit schools, you don\u2019t hit energy sources, you don\u2019t hit bridges. Those are war crimes. That is absolutely clear in international law.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut somewhere along the way we seem to have thrown that all aside and we\u2019ve chosen impunity, indifference, game show gambling over solidarity and humanity.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
