Sunday is shaping up to be a rainy part of this Memorial Day weekend — but Monday is looking wet, as well.<\/p>\n

Timing today’s rain<\/h2>\n

Rain fills in through the morning. The heaviest downpours likely from late morning through afternoon across the South Coast, Cape Cod and the Islands. That\u2019s where localized street flooding or ponding could develop in spots, depending on where heavier banding sets up. <\/p>\n

Temperatures stay stuck in the upper 40s to mid 50s with a raw northeast breeze. <\/p>\n

How much rain will Boston, rest of Massachusetts get?<\/h2>\n

Most communities pick up 1 to 2 inches of rain, with isolated higher totals possible near the South Coast. <\/p>\n

The steadier rain begins tapering Sunday evening with the potential for another round to come in early Monday and completely exit by Monday afternoon. <\/p>\n

Not ideal timing for outdoor plans, but after weeks of moderate drought and rainfall deficits, this is a soaking Southern New England needs.<\/p>\n

Once these rain chances clear Tuesday into Wednesday, a much nicer stretch of weather is on the way with temperatures climbing above normal into the 80s by midweek. <\/p>\n

Another round of scattered showers or even a few thunderstorms possible on Wednesday, followed by a chance for additional showers to round out the week as temperatures trend closer to seasonable levels.<\/p>\n
