As the Chicago Bulls explore a number of options for their head coaching vacancy, they’re interested in BYU lead man Kevin Young and have had early conversations with him, sources told ESPN’s Jamal Collier<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Tiago Splitter of the Portland Trail Blazers, Micah Nori of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Johnnie Bryant of the Cleveland Cavaliers, ex-Golden State Warriors assistant Jerry Stackhouse, and Lamar Skeeter of the Charlotte Hornets are also among the candidates for the Bulls’ opening, adds Collier<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Young spent the past two seasons with the Cougars, guiding the program to a 49-22 mark and back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances. The school finished in KenPom’s top 15 for adjusted offensive efficiency in both campaigns.<\/p>\n

BYU’s incoming recruiting class is headlined by top-10 prospect Bruce Branch III.<\/p>\n

Young was an assistant for the Phoenix Suns (2020-24) and Philadelphia 76ers (2016-20) before being hired by the Cougars.<\/p>\n

Chicago’s undergone major changes this offseason. Bryson Graham replaced Arturas Karnisovas as the Bulls’ top basketball executive, while head coach Billy Donovan stepped down after six seasons.<\/p>\n

Chicago missed the playoffs in eight of the last nine seasons. The Bulls’ last postseason series victory came in 2015.<\/p>\n
