Robert Lewandowksi is on the cusp of a move to Major League Soccer.<\/p>\n

The Chicago Fire are finalizing a deal for the Polish striker, and the two parties are expected to reach an agreement soon, sources told ESPN’s Lizzy Becharano<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Lewandowski, 37, is a free agent after his contract with Barcelona expired at the end of the 2025-26 season. He potted 120 goals in 193 appearances across all competitions over four seasons at Barcelona. Though he was no longer their full-time starter this season, Lewandowski still scored 14 goals in 31 La Liga matches to help Hansi Flick’s side finish well ahead of rivals Real Madrid for the league title.<\/p>\n

Lewandowski has netted 589 club goals in his career, with 238 coming during his eight-year stint with Bayern Munich. He left the German giants in 2022 after winning eight Bundesliga titles, three DFB-Pokals, and the UEFA Champions League in 2020.<\/p>\n

Chicago entered the World Cup break in third place in the Eastern Conference with 26 points in 14 games. The Fire have allowed 16 goals, the second-fewest in the conference, but their 27 goals scored rank fourth in the East and 12 back of Inter Miami’s league-best 39.<\/p>\n

The Fire lead MLS with six attempted spot-kicks but have converted just three. Lewandowski, meanwhile, has converted 48 of 56 penalty kicks throughout his club career. He’s missed just one of 15 for Poland.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
