Greta Onieogou and Bre-Z are dishing on the eighth and final season of \u201cAll American.\u201d <\/p>\n
\u201cExtra\u2019s\u201d Mona Kosar Abdi spoke with Greta and Bre-Z, who opened up on saying goodbye to the show and reflected on all the growth on and off screen they experienced over eight years.<\/p>\n
The cast came together for \u201cemotional\u201d table read for the premiere episode of the final season.<\/p>\n
Greta commented, \u201cIt\u2019s sad to say goodbye, of course. Having everyone in the same room reading these words.\u201d<\/p>\n
Bre-Z chimed in, \u201cCrying. People barely speaking through their words.”<\/p>\n
What they\u2019ll miss most? Greta said, \u201cLiterally, being on set because we can still see each other, which is so great, but, you know, unfortunately, can\u2019t, like, pull up to Warner Bros. the same way. Some of the sets aren\u2019t even there<\/em> anymore. Just being in those spaces, like, they really do become literally second homes to us.\u201d<\/p>\n Bre-Z will be missing the \u201clearning\u201d aspect, saying, \u201cI enjoyed watching different directors come in and do this thing their way and see our stories be told through their eyes.\u201d<\/p>\n Bre-Z didn\u2019t forget the cast and crew, either! She said, \u201cI miss like coming in and seeing those people every morning.\u201d<\/p>\n According to Bre-Z, the cast grew up on the show.<\/p>\n She said, \u201cI followed and walked with my character as she identified things within herself. I was able to do the same thing for myself and at this point, like there was a lot of alignment and similarity between like what was happening on screen and offscreen. I\u2019m working but helping myself do the work\u2026 so it was amazing to be able to do that.\u201d<\/p>\n Greta learned a lot from her character Layla, too. She explained, \u201cI think her storyline touched a lot of people, which I\u2019m so proud of. I think both of us had characters that really helped a lot of people feel seen that probably don\u2019t usually get to see themselves represented on film. It\u2019s really cool to be able to do that.\u201d<\/p>\n She noted that the \u201clines get blurred\u201d when you play a character for eight seasons, saying, \u201cThere\u2019s parts of them that I think you adopt and then vice versa.\u201d<\/p>\n As for what to expect from her character Coop, Bre-Z teased, \u201cCoop stepping into her power and just realizing that she is highly capable\u2026 we will see her just put these things to the test, everything she\u2019s learned through friendship, through family, through school.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAll American\u201d Season 8 premieres July 13 on the CW.<\/p>\n Source: Entertainment Movies \u2013 Extra TV<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Greta Onieogou and Bre-Z are dishing on the eighth and final season of \u201cAll American.\u201d
