The Memphis Grizzlies are expected to buy out or trade D’Angelo Russell<\/a> at some point this offseason, sources told Yahoo Sports’ Kelly Iko<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Memphis acquired the veteran guard from the Washington Wizards as part of a six-team, 11-player trade earlier in July.<\/p>\n

Russell began the previous campaign with the Dallas Mavericks, averaging 10.2 points and shooting a career-low 29.5% from deep across 26 appearances. <\/p>\n

The Ohio State product was dealt to the Wizards last February as part of the Anthony Davis<\/a> trade. However, he never made a single appearance for Washington.<\/p>\n

The Los Angeles Lakers selected Russell with the No. 2 overall pick in 2015.<\/p>\n

Russell’s best season came in 2018-19 with the Brooklyn Nets, when he tallied 21.1 points per contest and earned his lone All-Star selection.<\/p>\n

The 30-year-old has also played for the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves during his NBA career.<\/p>\n
