Canada and the United States will play for gold at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup, an annual international tournament featuring the world’s top under-18 players. <\/p>\n

The North American powerhouses won their respective semifinal clashes on Friday, with Canada defeating Finland 6-3 and the USA topping Slovakia 5-2.<\/p>\n

Both Canada and the U.S. remain undefeated heading into the final.<\/p>\n

Canada’s roster is headlined by potential 2027 No. 1 pick Landon Dupont, who’s the captain of the squad. The 17-year-old defenseman put up 73 points in 63 games for the WHL’s Everett Silvertips last season and is committed to the University of Michigan for the upcoming campaign.<\/p>\n

The United States won last year’s Hlinka Gretzky Cup, ending Canada’s streak of three straight titles.<\/p>\n

The championship game is scheduled for Saturday at 7 p.m. ET in Edmonton. <\/p>\n
