Breaking down the Bears\u2019 Saturday training camp practice:<\/p>\n
Cam Lewis was in considerable pain at the end of practice and, after trying to stretch out his leg and hip area, was carted off the field. It was the latest injury at safety for the Bears, who lost Coby Bryant for at least two months and saw Gervarrius Owens leave on a cart Thursday. Owens was waived with an injury designation Saturday.
Lewis began training camp as the team\u2019s slot cornerback because of Kyle Gordon\u2019s calf injury but moved to safety when Bryant was hurt.<\/p>\n
The Bears added depth Saturday, signing safety Brandon Hill and cornerback William Wright. <\/p>\n
Lewis is the latest addition to an ever-longer injury list. Cornerbacks Terell Smith and Jaylon Jones, linebacker D\u2019Marco Jackson, tackle Braxton Jones and defensive end Montez Sweat all sat out Saturday\u2019s practice. Kiran Amegadjie and Jedrick Wills rotated in Jones\u2019 place \u2014 and struggled. Rookie Malik Muhammad was solid in the slot. Neither Jones nor Sweat has a serious injury.<\/p>\n
After making a spectacular touchdown catch in 7-on-7 drills, tight end Colston Loveland punted the ball in celebration. That drew a flag from the referees working practice.<\/p>\n

NBC analyst Jason Garrett gave Bears defensive backs coach Al Harris a hug as he walked onto the practice field. Garrett was the Cowboys\u2019 head coach from 2011-19; Harris began as a Cowboys assistant in 2020. <\/p>\n
Defensive coordinator Dennis Allen and offensive line coach Dan Roushar, both former Saints assistants, missed practice to attend Drew Brees\u2019 Pro Football Hall of Fame induction in Canton, Ohio.<\/p>\n
