Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting Friday in Lowell, Massachusetts.
The Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office said the shooting took place just before 4 p.m. at an apartment complex on Pawtucket Boulevard.
Investigators said two men who knew each other from the building, both armed with guns, got into a fight. One of the men suffered gunshot wounds and was taken to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries.
The other man stayed at the scene, authorities said, adding that there is not believed to be any threat to the public.
Neither man was publicly identified Friday evening.
Lowell police and Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the district attorney’s office are investigating the case.
