Rescue operations have entered a second day following the collapse of a five-storey building under construction in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, as emergency responders continue efforts to locate survivors trapped beneath the rubble, with operations coordinated by the Rivers State Government, the National Emergency Management Agency, security agencies, and the Nigerian Red Cross Society, after initial rescue efforts ran from midday on Wednesday until midnight before being suspended overnight and subsequently resumed at 6 a.m. on Thursday, as authorities maintain search and recovery operations while assessing the scale of the incident and the number of persons affected.
