Colorado head football coach Deion Sanders has kept a relatively low profile recently as he’s fought through some unspecified health issues.
USA TODAY and ESPN confirmed last month that Sanders, 57, was home in Texas battling an undisclosed health problem. The Pro Football Hall of Famer has battled blood clots in the past, though there it’s unclear if this latest issue is related to that or not.
Colorado is only weeks away from the start of training camp for the 2025 season, so hopefully Sanders has been healing up well. On Friday, the Buffaloes’ leader posted video of himself spending time on his property in Texas with friend and rapper Lil Wayne.
“Thank You My Brother @liltunechi for coming to visit me & making sure I’m straight @liltwist (posted by @deionsandersjr) Love y’all man!” Sanders wrote in the caption for the post.
In the clip, Sanders looks relatively healthy, though he does have an noticeable limp in his walk.

Perhaps Deion will provide further clarity on his physical condition when he speaks with reporters later this summer.
It should be noted that Sanders sounded hopeful when he appeared to comment publicly on his health on social media last month.
“Wow, I am truly blessed for the abundance of well wishes, for all the thoughts and all of the prayers. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I can assure you all that everything is OKAY and will continue to be so,” he tweeted. “God got me like no other. I have so much more work to do to Glorify God so please believe God got me! I’m excited to get back to Colorado to be at home with my staff, team & all associated to our program. When we arrive back to Boulder you will be updated on everything. Until then, I’M COMING BABY.”
Colorado will kick off its 2025 season at home against Georgia Tech on Aug. 29.
