Former Iowa State star Momcilovic commits to Kentucky

Former Iowa State forward Milan Momcilovic has committed to Kentucky, he announced Monday.

Momcilovic withdrew his name from the NBA draft last week and remained in the transfer portal to play his senior season. He also reportedly received interest from Louisville, St. John’s, and Arizona throughout the transfer process.

The 21-year-old is coming off a standout 2025-26 campaign in which he averaged 16.9 points per game while shooting a nation-high 48.7% from the 3-point line. His 3.7 treys made per contest ranked fifth in all of college basketball, and he set a Cyclones single-season record with 136 makes from deep.

Momcilovic received a second-team All-Big 12 nomination last season as a junior. The 6-foot-8 sharpshooter dropped 20 points in a Round of 32 victory over Kentucky in the NCAA Tournament to help Iowa State reach the Sweet 16.

Kentucky lost its top five scorers from last year to either the transfer portal or graduation. Momcilovic will join a Wildcats squad that includes transfer guards Zoom Diallo and Alex Wilkins.

Mark Pope’s squad is looking to rebound after a disappointing season marred by injuries. They went 22-14, including only 10-8 in SEC play.
