The owners are grateful for the community’s support over the years, but are looking forward to the next chapter in their lives.
Running a small business is no easy task, and they’re looking forward to enjoying their life in other ways.
“You know.. It’s a lot of six 15-hour days a week. It’s a lot of stress. A lot of change in the industry in recent years that just keeps on adding more difficulty to doing business the way we like doing business,” says Leon Giard, owner of Frankie & Johnnie’s Pizza.
The owners also plan to close The Scoop, the ice cream shop connected to the pizza shop. An average day for the Giard’s starts at 7:00 a.m. at the shop.
They say they are incredibly thankful for their community and how they’ve supported them over the years.
“It’s just the relationships we developed and seeing people come in here with their children that I remember as children… You know, helping organizations out and making a difference for different organizations has been satisfying and gratifying for me and my wife,” says Giard.
Frankie & Johnnie’s will close on August 31. They’re most popular for their grinders and pizza.
