Jenny Mollen doesn’t think her 11-year-old son, Sid, would react particularly well to her recent health scare, in which she lost one-fouth of the blood in her body.
“[Sid] would lose his s*** if he saw me bleeding out,” Mollen, 46, said on the Tuesday, July 29, episode of the “MeSsy” podcast. “I still don’t know what happened, but, basically, I had this crazy period.”
She added, “I skipped my period for a month, which had only happened to me one other time two years ago. I forget why, if I tried a new medication or what that was about, but my period was gone for a month, and then I stop the Tirzepatide [GLP-1 medication for weight loss] on Saturday because I was going to [have a] colonoscopy.”
Within three days, Mollen said that she had “the most insane period of [her] life.”

“I was in the kitchen, and I felt like a chicken laying an egg. I ran to the bathroom to see what came out of me,” she recalled. “It is literally the size of a baseball, this blood clot.”
Mollen called her doctor, who advised her to start progesterone for an “IV drip at home” after another blood clot would emerge approximately “every 15 minutes.”
“I look at Jason [Biggs] and say, ‘I think I lost too much blood,’” she said. “He’s walking me to the bathroom because I’ve decided I’m gonna wear a diaper to sleep in [since] I’m hemorrhaging everywhere.”
After Biggs, 47, helped her to the bathroom, Mollen fainted before the American Pie actor called an ambulance to take her to the hospital.
“We have two kids sleeping,” she said of sons Sid and Lazlo, 7. “One of whom is leaving for sleepaway camp in the morning.”
Mollen was ultimately “in the ER all night long,” receiving treatment.

“The progesterone starts working when I get to the hospital,” she said. “When they’re looking, they’re like, ‘There’s no blood here.’ Then, it’s, like, pumping me full of fluids and doing all these tests. I had lost a fourth of my blood in my body.”
Mollen added, “I get home, I walk in the front door and my son is [coming out of his bedroom]. I, literally, rip my hospital [band] off my arm, and I [say], ‘Good morning,’ as if I had just woken up, too. So, he had no idea. Took him to the bus, put him on the bus to camp, [and] he had no idea it ever happened. Thank God.”
Mollen and Biggs have been married since 2008, going on to welcome Sid in 2014 and Lazlo in 2017.
