AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) – A group of local artists put in hours of work to showcase a new mosaic.
Free concerts kick off in Springfield, featuring local talent and more
The New England Mosaic project was on display in Agawam at the Agawam Golf Course on Thursday.
Canvases made by adults were on sale for $25.00, and those made by children were on sale for $15.00. All proceeds from the event will go to the Gloria McLellan Memorial Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships for students pursuing a career in Visual Arts.
Canvases done by children were from the West Springfield Library, Agawam Library, and Terries Around Town Art Class, sponsored by the Red Thread Network. “I’m taking home a lilac. My mother loved lilacs, and I planted a bush in her honor, and this memorial is in memory of Gloria. I found a lilac and it was just the perfect thing to choose,” says Alexandra Walters of Feeding Hills.
Next month, on August 23 and 24, the Pioneer Valley Art Festival will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Polish American Club in Feeding Hills.
