(KRON) – A man has suffered fatal injuries after crashing into multiple trees early Saturday morning, said the California Highway Patrol.
At approximately 4:15 a.m., CHP responded to a solo car crash that transpired in Lafayette on Highway 24 eastbound, west of Pleasant Hill Road.
A man was driving a black Toyota sedan that veered off the right shoulder and crashed into multiple trees south of the roadway, according to CHP investigation. The man’s injuries were fatal, and he died at the scene.

CHP is investigating why he veered off the road and if alcohol or drugs were involved.
