WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A man has been rescued after falling off a block wall on Riverdale Street in West Springfield.
Former Clarion Hotel no longer housing those in need
The West Springfield Fire Department states that on Monday evening, fire and police crews were sent to the BMW Dealership on Riverdale Street for a man who had fallen off a 25-foot block wall onto the ground and into thick bushes.
The man had minor injuries and was not able to move. Crews weren’t able to free him due to the thick bushes he fell into. After considering all possible options, crews decided to conduct a rope rescue, which involved additional assistance and a ladder truck to serve as an anchor for the rescue.
Rope Rescue Technicians and members of the regional rope rescue team provided the resources to help with the rescue. The man was rescued and taken to a local hospital for his injuries.
