The father of Boston Celtics superstar Jaylen Brown has been arrested for attempted murder, according to a new report.
Marselles Brown, a former boxer, was arrested after allegedly a youth football coach following a dispute over a parking spot. The incident occurred in Las Vegas on Wednesday, according to TMZ.
“Officials say the suspect fled the scene … but he was tracked down later and taken into custody,” TMZ wrote. “Brown has a court appearance scheduled for Thursday afternoon.”
The coach was taken to a nearby hospital, where he underwent surgery. His condition is unknown at this time.
Parking fight leads to stabbing
According to Fadeaway World, Las Vegas police were called to All American Park just before 6 p.m. on Wednesday to investigate an apparent stabbing.
Two men were fighting over a parking space when one of them stabbed the other. Marselles Brown, who is accused of the attack, is currently being held in Clark County Detention Center.
Standing 7-foot-tall according to a 2016 Mass Live article, Marselles Brown posted a 33-18-1 record with 25 knockouts in his professional boxing career, which began in 1989. Brown’s most recent bout was in 2016.
TMZ reports that Jaylen Brown “doesn’t have a close relationship with his father and was unaware of the arrest or incident.”

Jaylen Brown cemented his status as one of the NBA’s top players this past season, earning a third-straight trip to the All-Star Game while averaging d 22.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game during the regular season.
The Celtics earned the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference, but were knocked off by the third-seeded New York Knicks in the second round of the playoffs.
In 2023-24, Brown helped lead the Celtics to their 18th world championship while being named NBA Finals MVP.
