Nearly 7,000 customers without power in western P.E.I., says Maritime Electric

Maritime Electric says a motor vehicle accident has left nearly 7,000 Islanders in western P.E.I. without power Saturday morning.Maritime Electric’s outage map showed outages ranging from the North Cape to south of Inverness. Communities south and east of Ellerslie are unaffected, according to the map.In a Facebook post, Maritime Electric said it expects power to be restored around noon AT.CBC News has contacted the RCMP for details about the crash, but did not receive an immediate response.
