FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WWLP) – Football season is getting started as it’s the first day of Patriots training camp!
NFL teams open training camp, starting the long journey to Super Bowl 60 in San Francisco
New England Patriots training camp is officially underway, and what better day than Wednesday, as it’s sunny and 70s.
The day started off sweetly and adorably with the Pawtraits Foundation. The Kraft Family and New England Patriots Foundation are dedicated to helping dogs get adopted. A select number of players walked out with puppies, handing them off to their forever families.
Helmets then went on, and training camp started. From stretching to throwing and catching, the players got warmed up to get going.
Notable players this year include Drake Maye, who is looking to have his first full season as QB1, first-round draft pick and tackle Will Campbell, second-round draft pick and wide receiver Treveyon Henderson, and finally Stefon Diggs, who is good to go in drills coming off of his ACL surgery.
First-year head coach Mike Vrabel said excitement is already in the building, both for players and coaches.
