Pete Davidson and girlfriend Elsie Hewitt have a lot to celebrate — but the actor wishes they could do so privately.
“I feel bad for my girl because I bring a lot of s**t,” Davidson, 31, said during the Wednesday, August 13, episode of The Breakfast Club, referring to his level of fame. “Anything I do or she does now is gonna be a thing.”
Hewitt, 29, and Davidson announced they are expecting their first child together via Instagram on July 16, making their red carpet debut at the premiere of The Pickup days later on July 27.
“She’s a very private person and she’s the one doing all the work,” the comedian also said on Wednesday, adding that pregnancy is “supposed to be a beautiful experience.”

“[She] never made me feel this way or said anything,” Davidson continued, “but I feel so guilty and horrible that I could not allow her to have the ideal pregnancy that almost every woman gets to have and enjoy.”
Despite those complicated feelings, Davidson has repeatedly made it clear that he is excited to become a father. While speaking to Entertainment Tonight on July 22, he gushed, “As you know, it’s been my dream forever since I was a little kid. The baby’s mother is one of my favorite people to ever exist ever. She’s going to be a great mom and I’m just stoked. I hope to be a, you know, the dad I hoped that I would have.”

Becoming a dad for the first time was also a major topic of interest during an August 6 appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Davidson told the show’s host, “I’m stoked. I can’t wait. Let’s go. I’m so excited. I’ve never been more excited for anything.”
Back in 2022, Davidson spoke about wanting to be a dad on Kevin Hart’s Hart to Heart.
“I’m definitely a family guy,” he said. “My favorite thing ever, which I have yet to achieve, I wanna have a kid. That’s like, my dream. It’s like, super corny, [but] it would be so fun. Dress up the little dude. … I’m so excited for that chapter. That’s kind of what I’m just preparing for now, is just trying to be as good as a dude, develop and get better so when that happens it’s just easier.”

Davidson’s own father, Scott, died while responding to the September 11, 2001, attacks on New York City when the actor was only 7 years old. In a 2020 interview with Charlamagne Tha God, Davidson admitted that he one day wanted to raise a child to “be there for something or do something that I didn’t have growing up.”
