Robbery suspect at large after evading Vacaville police in car chase

(KRON) – A suspect is at large after a robbery turned police car chase on Friday, according to the Vacaville Police Department. 

An employee of a Vacaville business informed authorities that when they were leaving their car to deposit cash from their employer, a masked man assaulted them and stole the cash at around 3 p.m. The employee told police that the man was wearing a face covering, light colored shirt, and dark pants, and that he was not armed. 

According to Vacaville PD, the victim did not suffer any serious injury in the robbery.

The suspect fled in a dark colored sedan. Vacaville police officers responded to the scene and located a vehicle that matched the suspect’s car traveling westbound on Interstate 80 toward Fairfield.

Police said that before officers tried to stop the car, the suspect fled, and a pursuit ensued. The suspect abandoned the car near Tabor Avenue and Bristol Lane in Fairfield and fled on foot. CHP discovered the vehicle was involved in a non-injury collision on the freeway, and police were later informed of the crash.
