Santa Rosa nonprofit ordered to pay $4.8 million in caregiver sexual assault lawsuit

The plaintiffs filed a civil lawsuit in 2024 and their case went to a jury last month. They accused Becoming Independent of hiring a caregiver who abused a developmentally disabled Sonoma County man who is about 50 years old.
