(KRON) – Luxury lifestyle magazine Robb Report has raved about a Bay Area eatery. Shōwa in San Francisco was listed as one of the best new restaurants by Robb Report.
Shōwa, which has a 20-seat dining room, is a Tonkatsu specialty eatery. Tonkatsu is described as Japanese comfort food with breaded, deep-fried pork cutlet. Per the restaurant, they offer “luxurious Iberico pork and exquisite dry-aged options.”
The luxury style magazine highly regarded the eatery’s 10- to 12-course tasting menu, which reportedly featured greenling cod, tuna and dry-aged Duroc pork.
Opening date for upcoming Seafood City in Peninsula announced
“We take pride in fostering an ambiance that not only exudes peace and exclusivity but also pays homage to a bygone era of Japanese elegance,” according to Shōwa’s website.
Shōwa’s website also says Chef Koji Endo marries “the comforting essence of home-cooked meals with the sophistication of high-end ingredients.”
Shōwa’s is located at 1550 Howard St.
