Springfield gun call leads to 4 arrests, weapons and heroin seized

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Four suspects were arrested and four illegal firearms were seized by Springfield officers after being called to a fight involving a gun.

The Springfield Police Department issued a news release on Wednesday stating that officers were called at approximately 2:15 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, to the 500 block of Worthington Street for a reported gun incident. Police received information that there was a fight, and two suspects had guns.

Upon arrival, officers observed the suspects who matched their description near the intersection of Taylor Street and Fairbanks Place in a vehicle. Officers detained four people who were in the vehicle during the investigation.

Officers seized four firearms, including a ghost gun capable of holding 31 rounds of ammunition, and a bundle (10 bags) of heroin from inside the vehicle. As a result, the suspects aged 17, 19, 19, and 26, were arrested and charged with various firearm offenses.

Tyrease Arzola (26) of Springfield is charged with:

  • Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm during the Commission of a Felony
  • Making a Firearm without a Serial Number
  • Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
  • Improper Storage of a Large Capacity Firearm
  • Improper Storage of a Firearm (Three Counts)
  • Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card
  • Possession of a Class A Drug
  • Improper Storage of a Large Capacity Firearm near a Minor

Jordan Arkins (19) of Springfield is charged with:

  • Making a Firearm without a Serial Number
  • Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
  • Improper Storage of a Large Capacity Firearm
  • Improper Storage of a Firearm
  • Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card
  • Possession of a Class A Drug
  • Improper Storage of a Large Capacity Firearm near a Minor

Ezier Santiago (19) of Springfield is charged with:

  • Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm
  • Possession of a Class A Drug
  • Making a Firearm without a Serial Number
  • Improper Storage of a Firearm
  • Improper Storage of a Large Capacity Firearm
  • Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card
  • Improper Storage of a Large Capacity Firearm near a Minor
  • Carrying a Firearm without a License (Three Counts)

The identity and charges of the 17-year-old boy cannot be released by Springfield Police due to his age.
