The main stage for Belgian music festival Tomorrowland has caught fire less than two days before the massive event was set to open.
Videos circulated on social media showed flames engulfing the elaborate set, with firetrucks nearby. Local media confirmed the news, reporting that emergency services were onsite and local residents were being advised to keep their windows and doors closed. No festival-goers are currently in attendance, although many employees are believed to be on-site for set up.
Tomorrowland is a large-scale electronic dance music festival that typically draws upwards of 400,000 spectators. It is set to begin on Friday, July 18 as part of a two-weekend run that ends July 27.
Men’s Journal has reached out to reps for the festival for comment on the incident and how it will impact the festival’s planned opening. Thus far, there’s no word on a cause or impacts on the event.
