Traffic lights out at Jarvis Avenue in Holyoke due to blown transformer

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Holyoke officials are urging drivers to use caution due to a blown transformer shutting down multiple traffic lights in the city on Saturday.

Holyoke Community College receives grant for TRIO student support services

The Holyoke Fire Department shared at that before 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, a blown transformer in the area of Jarvis Avenue resulted in several traffic signals in the area no longer functioning. Travelers are urged to use extreme caution when navigating these intersections.

The Holyoke Gas and Electric Departments are currently working to get all traffic lights back up and running, and officials say that power is anticipated to return soon. Traffic lights may be flashing when power is returned, as it will take time for crews to reset all signals.

Drivers are advised to take detours if necessary.
