Lighthouse jersey wins Islanders' fan design contest

The New York Islanders announced the winner of their popular jersey design contest Thursday, revealing a navy sweater with a large lighthouse logo in the center.

The full uniform will be launched at a later date. New York won’t wear the unique set until the 2027-28 season.

In July, the Islanders announced the NHL’s first contest calling for fan-designed uniforms. After receiving over 80,000 submissions, the team unveiled eight finalists last week. Fans voted in a bracket-style competition to determine the winner.

New York has never used a lighthouse as its primary logo. The club hasn’t had a third jersey in rotation since 2024.
