Blaming homelessness on an apolitical “housing crisis” is irresponsible. Homelessness is a political choice, and the message is clear: if you can’t pay rent, you don’t deserve a home. The intentionality and lethality of this epidemic is nothing less than political violence exacted against the poorest Edmontonians—or even social murder by landlords and politicians.
