Nova Scotia’s legislature has reopened with new rules after being closed to the public since March 25 following a protest that delayed a budget vote.
Minimum wage workers in Nova Scotia will earn a quarter more per hour when the rate increases to $16.75 on Wednesday. It will increase again to $17 this October.
After months of heated debate and deliberation, councillors approved its 2026-27 budget, which includes an operating budget of $1.45 billion, a capital budget of $316.7 million.
