Knicks' Robinson available for Game 1 of Finals

New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson is available for Wednesday’s Game 1 of the NBA Finals, the team announced.

Robinson was listed as questionable for the series opener against the San Antonio Spurs with a fractured fifth metacarpal on his right hand. He reportedly underwent surgery after the Eastern Conference finals for a broken pinkie finger. However, he fully participated in practice Tuesday, according to Charania.

The Knicks declined to divulge how Robinson sustained the fracture but said that it didn’t occur during a game or practice. The center reportedly plans to wear a brace in Game 1.

The 28-year-old is registering 5.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game during the postseason, which is culminating in New York’s first trip to the Finals since 1999.

Robinson was the only Knicks player whose status for Wednesday remained uncertain. The Spurs are expected to have their entire rotation available.
