The Buffalo Sabres and restricted free-agent forward Peyton Krebs avoided arbitration with a four-year contract worth $4.5 million per season, the team announced Monday.
Krebs’ new deal is a notable raise from the $1.45 million he’s earned the past two seasons. The Sabres acquired him from the Golden Knights in 2021 as part of the return for Jack Eichel.
Krebs, 25, set career highs in games played (82), goals (12), and points (39) last season while averaging 13 minutes per contest. He added six points in 13 playoff appearances.
The Sabres have just over $5 million in remaining cap space after signing Krebs, per PuckPedia. Buffalo’s had a modest offseason to date after winning the Atlantic Division. The club lost Alex Tuch in a sign-and-trade with the Washington Capitals, dealt Michael Kesselring to the San Jose Sharks, and acquired Olen Zellweger from the Anaheim Ducks.
