Canada and the United States will play for gold at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup, an annual international tournament featuring the world’s top under-18 players.
The North American powerhouses won their respective semifinal clashes on Friday, with Canada defeating Finland 6-3 and the USA topping Slovakia 5-2.
Both Canada and the U.S. remain undefeated heading into the final.
Canada’s roster is headlined by potential 2027 No. 1 pick Landon Dupont, who’s the captain of the squad. The 17-year-old defenseman put up 73 points in 63 games for the WHL’s Everett Silvertips last season and is committed to the University of Michigan for the upcoming campaign.
The United States won last year’s Hlinka Gretzky Cup, ending Canada’s streak of three straight titles.
The championship game is scheduled for Saturday at 7 p.m. ET in Edmonton.
