Letters: Alberta rebate program not worth the time for the $100

The Alberta Energy Rebate program is a joke. I was able to get my application submitted. My husband tried to do his but because he had our old home phone number set up on his account, they could not send him the code he would need to enter. He changed it in his account to his cell but then was told he had to go to a registry office to change it in person. After that I received an email saying that my application was rejected because the income I provided was incorrect and did not match the correct line on my income tax return, which it did because I copied it from there. Why is the Alberta government making this so difficult when they already have all the information they need to provide people with this benefit? All the time wasted and aggravation involved makes me think that this is designed so that people will just give up. If that’s the case, they win.
