Motorcyclists can put more purpose behind their summer rides as the annual REVER Million Mile Challenge returns, encouraging riders across the country to log miles while raising money for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (PBTF) and its Ride for Kids program.
Running through Sept. 13, every mile recorded in the REVER app helps generate donations for pediatric brain tumor research and family support programs. Participation is free, and riders simply need to join the challenge and track their rides using the app.
This year’s challenge is presented by Alpinestars, which has pledged 1.25 cents per mile, up to $15,000. Additional support comes from Biltwell, Cardo Systems, and Pirelli, bringing the total industry commitment to $30,000 while encouraging riders to collectively log one million miles before the campaign concludes on Ride for Kids Day.
“The Million Mile Challenge is built around the simple idea that riders already love to ride, so we’re giving every mile a greater purpose,” said Bjorn Bredeson, REVER’s director of marketing and mobile applications. “Through REVER’s ‘Make Every Ride Count’ ethos, we’re proud to turn everyday rides into measurable support for families facing the toughest battles imaginable.”
REVER has partnered with the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation since 2019, while parent company Comoto – which includes RevZilla, Cycle Gear, J&P Cycles, Common Tread, and REVER – expanded its support of PBTF and Ride for Kids in 2021. The organizations have continued building fundraising efforts that connect the motorcycle community with one of the nation’s longest-running motorcycle charity programs.
The Million Mile Challenge also serves as a lead-up to Comoto’s annual Ride for Kids Day activities in September. On Sept. 13, Comoto will donate 10% of all in-store and online sales, up to $100,000, to support the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation while hosting fundraising efforts across its retail locations.
Since its founding in 1991, the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation has funded research, patient advocacy, and family support programs for children diagnosed with brain tumors. Its Ride for Kids program dates back to 1984 and has become one of the motorcycle industry’s most enduring charitable initiatives.
