Woman critically injured in Garfield Park hit-and-run

Police are looking for a vehicle that ran into a woman and left the scene late Thursday in the Garfield Park neighborhood.

The woman was found unresponsive with trauma to her body in the 3800 block of West Van Buren Street around 11:55 p.m. Thursday, Chicago police said.

Preliminary information indicates she was struck by a vehicle that left the scene, officials said.

She was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where she was in critical condition, police said.

The Major Accident Investigation Unit is investigating.
